How to fix error 0x800406C in Ms. Outlook 2007

How to fix error 0x800406C in Ms. Outlook 2007

If you get 0x800406C error in Ms. Outlook 2007 as shown in the above picture, hope this article is the solution.

The error is due to  the fact that (.pst) capacity of Ms. Outlook 2007 is full, which can only hold 20 GB per .pst.

There are 2 solutions, namely :

  1. Delete emails that are no longer needed, such as the info in the image above.
  2. Or by creating a new .pst to accommodate sending and receiving emails. I prefer this step because it is easier than deleting emails. Just follow these steps :

  1. Click on Tools – Account Settings – Email, in this step I just want to see if there is only 1 or more email accounts and if they are stored in the same .pst. In the following image there are 2 email addresses, and if I click on the email, then both will point to the same location, which is D:\Users\Email\Outlook.pst as in the error above.

  1. Select the Data Files tab, then click the inbox name (in this practice it is Email) and then click Open Folder.

  1. Then a new window will open where the .pst location is stored and as I informed above, the size of the Outlook.pst is almost 20 GB (19,929,297 KB).

  1. Right-click the Outlook.pst file and select Rename (or press F2 on the keyboard), in this example I gave the name according to the email period which will be easier if one day I see the email again.

  1. Close Ms. Outlook and reopen it, you should get  the following error, which is due to the old .pst not found (because it has been changed from Outlook.pst to Email 20120102-20211026.pst).

  1. Ms. Outlook will automatically create a new .pst for the email to use, in which case I still stay in the same location and give Outlook a name for the new .pst.

  1. Then for the name of the Inbox I named Email, then click OK and here are the results.

  1. Ms. Outlook will immediately do the Send Receive process again and it should be normal as shown in the following image.

  1. Step 8 should be done, but what if I want to keep seeing the previous emails, because in .pst that I have created, only  the most recent emails will appear (including the delivery). If you want to see previous emails, click Tools – Account Settings – Data Files – Add, select the first one and then click OK.

  1. Navigate to the old .pst then click OK and OK again then Close.

  1. The result will be as follows, where in the Folder List display there is Email.pst (for the latest) and Email 20120102-20211026.pst (for the previous email).

Good luck and have a nice day, thank you.

Taking Advantage of ADSL Wireless Modem 2 – TP-Link TD-W8101G

Taking Advantage of ADSL Wireless Modem 2 – TP-Link TD-W8101G

T: Do you have an extender router that is not used? The router at home is broken.

S: Wireless router or what do you mean?

T : bla bla bla bla bla …

It turned out that he needed  an additional router to connect to the internet from the main router  because he router was currently using was broken. After I checked in the warehouse, I found the TP-Link TD-W8101G router modem.

For this guide, it’s similar to the one I’ve made before here, so it’s just a different router and this time I’ve made it a bit detailed enough to make it easier.

Here is  the default  information of  the router:

IP: 192.168.1.1

Username : admin

Password : admin

SSID : TP-Link_XXXXX (XXXXX is usually the MAC Address of the TP-Link, in this case what I have is TP-LINK_E72C6C), so it can be adjusted from the sticker attached to the bottom of the modem.

For the final topology as follows but when doing this guide I am using a PC, so just connect the LAN cable  to the PC and modem (like in the red box), do not connect to a network that is already running as it will cause looping.

Here is the guide :

  1. Because this router has not been used for a long time, I will immediately reset it by pressing  the reset button between the power port and the LAN port for 5-10 seconds.

  1. If the reset is successful, then when you type IP 192.168.1.1 on the browser it will be the following image, type admin in the Username and Password  column and then click Sign in.

and I check the IP on the PC will get the following.

  1. Once opened, it will be directed to the Status tab.

  1. Click the Interface Setup – Wireless tab. You can change the SSID according to the name you want, but in this example I will only provide a password, here is the information and then click SAVE :

Authentication Type = WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK

Encryption = TKIP/AES

Pre-Shared Key = wireless password

  1. I will replace the default IP with  an empty IP, in case I change from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.5 and turn off the DHCP (Disable) feature because DHCP is already provided from the router before, then click SAVE.

Note: The IP that will be given must be the same as the IP block that is already running, otherwise you will not be able to connect to the internet.

  1. Click OK if the following confirmation appears.

  1. If I refresh (press F5 on the keyboard) the page will likely look like this (I’m using the Firefox browser, the error will be different if you’re using a different browser).

  1. Unplug  the LAN  cable from  the PC and connect it to the previous router, as well as for the TP-Link TD-W8101G router modem (as in the topology). If true, then when we type IP 192.168.2.5 on the browser the following image will appear.

and I check the IP on the PC will get the following.

  1. If you are logged in, then the IP has changed.

  1. The following are the results of the test using a laptop and cellphone.

To be honest, the results are not very satisfactory because they are very far from the available bandwidth, which is 50 Mbps, here are the test results from cellphones using the same frequency, namely 2.4 Ghz, the results are better for downloading.

Finally, hopefully this article can help take advantage of unused routers, hehehe, thank you and have a nice day.

Ruijie Reyee RG-EW1200G Pro Configuration

Ruijie Reyee RG-EW1200G Pro Configuration

I found out about this AP from the training and FB group that I had participated in before and now thank God I was finally given the opportunity to try the Ruijie Reyee RG-EW1200G Pro device. I didn’t have much time to try it, about 1 hour, so I’m sorry if I haven’t been able to give maximum results.

Topology :

Internet <-> AP Ruijie <-> Laptop

Here’s the information I can provide :

  1. Here’s a little photo of the AP and because I got an AP device that had been consolidated before, I will reset the AP, how to press the Reset button for about 10 seconds more like the text on the back until the blue light flashes (krrew06.jpeg).

Where is the blue light? under the words Ruijie | Reyeee. Honestly, I also just woke up when I connected the adapter, why didn’t there be a light indicator like a router in general. I also knew that when I reset the router in a slightly sideways position, I saw the blue light.

For the daytime, it is not very visible, but unfortunately I did not have time to try it at night.

2. Okay, let’s continue, before I tried a speedtest from a laptop first to make sure my internet speed and here are the results.

3. I will equate the IP block of the AP with the laptop, I installed the IP 192.168.110.2, where 192.168.110.1 is the default IP of the AP. Here’s what it looks like and click Configure.

4. A wizard appears to connect the AP to the internet, in the first case is DHCP, because the router will be set to a static IP, then the error can be ignored. Here’s what it looks like for PPPoE, Static IP and Repeater settings. Once I have filled in the IP in Static IP, click Next.

5. By default, the SSID name has been given for 2 frequencies and in this case I will not change it, just fill in the Management Password and change the Country/Region/Time Zone, click Override.

6. The SSID configuration that has been created appears, click Finish as many as 4x.

7. The AP has successfully connected to the internet, until a popup appears to upgrade the firmware to the latest version, in this case I click Upgrade Later.

8. The following is the display from the Home page, which contains AP status information, the number of connected clients as well as the status of the LAN port and AP version.

9. Clients page to see devices connected via cable and wireless and there is a feature to block but sorry I haven’t had time to try it.

10. The Internet page is more or less like step 4, to connect the AP to the internet.

11. The Wi-Fi page is also like step 5.

12. The More page turns out to see more features like Basics WAN as shown in the following image :

  • WAN : connects the AP to the internet.
  • LAN : change the AP IP, configure the DHCP IP and view the connected devices.
  • IPTV/VLAN, IPv6 Address and Repeater Mode sorry I haven’t tried it yet.

13. The Wireless page is as follows :

  • Wi-Fi : change the SSID name, frequency, password, activate Guest, for Smart Wi-Fi and Healthy Mode I haven’t tried it yet. I tried to activate the Guest Wi-Fi menu, which is usually so that connected devices cannot access the AP login page, but several times I tried, it turned out that my cellphone could still access the login page.
  • I have also not tried the Blacklist/Whitelist and Radio Frequency features.

14. Security page – ARP List to give a static IP to the device’s MAC so that it is not used by other devices, but I haven’t tried it either.

15. I haven’t had time to try the features on the Advanced page.

16. For Diagnostics, it’s the same, just try the features on the Network Tools menu.

17. On the System page, only in the Online Upgrade feature that I tried, where after the upgrade process is complete, the router will return to the Home page and if we go back to the System – Upgrade page, it says that the router firmware is the latest version.

18. To change the AP language, click on the active language and select the desired language, it turns out that Indonesia is available, although I didn’t try it either.

19. There is also a QR code to download the Ruijie application to remote this AP device online, I haven’t tried it either.

20. Here are the results of the speedtest from my laptop via cable and my cellphone via wireless using different frequencies.

Conclusion :

The main feature of this AP is Reyee Mesh but therefore only 1 router is available and the time is short, so sorry I can’t give much results yet. Hopefully next time I can try again. Thanks.

Solution The parameter is incorrect

Solution The parameter is incorrect

My colleague’s hard disk (HDD) the day before was normal and the next morning when it was connected to the laptop, experienced the above error. Alhamdulillah, after I helped fix it, I was finally able to access the data again by doing the following in Windows 11:

  1. Here is the status of the HDD when connected to the laptop, only the E drive appears but the data status is not visible.

  1. When I click on the Local Disk E, the following error appears :

E:\ is not accessible

The parameter is incorrect

  1. Click Start or the Search icon, type cmd and select Run as administrator.

  1. Type chkdsk E: /f /x /r and then Enter, for drive E it is tailored to your HDD drive.

  1. The repair process ran for about 2 hours on my laptop.

  1. Here are the results of the fix, I can access the HDD again (ignore drive F) and there are bad sectors that may be the cause of the error.

The causes of the above obstacles include power failure, bad sectors, being infected with viruses or a damaged Windows system. I recommend always backing up your data to avoid unwanted things like the problems my colleagues are experiencing. Thanks.

Ruckus ZoneFlex R300 AP Internet Speed Test

Ruckus ZoneFlex R300 AP Internet Speed Test

I met the Ruckus ZoneFlex R300 AP at a friend’s desk and since I had some free time, I just gave it a try.

Since I didn’t find PoE, I used Linksys’ 12V adapter and when it turned on as shown in the picture above. Here’s an image of the router, similar to the Ruckus Zonflex R310 but slightly smaller. If we look at it from the top position, the writing will be inversely proportional, because it has been designed to be installed on the roof, so the position of the writing becomes normal if seen from below.

For the following topology, where DHCP from Mikrotik and the results of my test with a laptop from a router where I got a bandwidth of around 80 Mbps for download and 90 Mbps for upload. I just tried this device.

  1. The DHCP IP from Mikrotik to AP is 192.168.1.14, so I immediately type it in the browser until the following image appears, click Advanced – Accept the Risk and Continue.

  1. Because I don’t know the login access, so I reset the AP, just press the Reset button for about 5-10 seconds in the lit position and the AP will be like the first picture above. Log in with username : super and password : sp-admin.

  1. If you look at the red text at the bottom, it looks like this AP was previously connected to  the Ruckus Controller due to the absence  of a wireless configuration in the Configuration menu. Here’s another view on the Status menu.

4. The following is the display on the Configuration menu, there are DCHP, Static IP and PPPoE configurations for connection to the internet.

5. Here is the display on the Maintenance menu, I tried to upgrade from the FTP and Web options and the results failed, either because this AP has been discontinued or something else. For the Local option, I will look for it later.

6. Here’s what the Administration menu looks like, there are diagnostics for Ping and Traceroute.

7. Continuing from step 5, after I searched here and downloaded here, finally managed to make this AP its own device (standalone AP).

8. There are several changes as shown in the following image and of course on the Configuration menu the wireless configuration has appeared.

9. To enable wireless on a 2.4G Radio or 5G Radio, simply select Enabled on Wireless Availability, then fill in the SSID and select the desired Encyrption Method and WPA configuration and click Update Settings.

Note: on 5G Radio, if I select SmartSelect Channel, the wireless on my laptop and mobile phone does not recognize the SSID name and after I try to change to Channel 149, it can only be detected and after I change back to SmartSelect, it can be recognized again, whether there is a bug or something else.

10. The following are the test results on Radio 2.4G and Radio 5G on my laptop and mobile devices, to maximize the available bandwidth, it is better to use a Channel Width of 40 Mhz on each Radio configuration.

Thanks.

Creating Archives in Ms. Outlook 2019

Creating Archives in Ms. Outlook 2019

I’m a bit confused about giving the right title for this article. At first I didn’t intend to create one but since I was currently in the process of moving  emails that were no longer needed, the idea came up to make it a guide.

Introduction:

Every day I receive about 100 – 200 incoming emails and some with attachments, of course the size of *.pst will get bigger and make Ms. Outlook slow.

Solution:

For that I have separated the emails (by year) that are not needed to another *.pst. Why not just throw it away? I was worried that I would need the email at some point, so I could reappear it easily.

If you look at the image above, the size of the Outlook FI email is about 27 GB and the other sizes are about 1 GB, only 1 is about 265 KB, yes because I haven’t moved it yet. I leave 1 so that it can be practiced in this article.

Here is the guide in Ms. Outlook 2019:

  1. Click File – Account Settings – Account Settings – Data Files.

  1. Click Add – give it a name and choose a location to save *.pst, click OK – Close. In this case I have previously created the name Faulty 20XX and it is located in the same place as the main email.

  1. The email Folder Pane display will be as follows.

  1. Right-click on the email folder to be moved (in this case it is Faulty 2019), click Move Folder and navigate to the *.pst that has been created, click OK and wait for the process to finish.

  1. Here are the results of the move, the size of Faulty 2019.pst which was previously only about 265 KB to 1.2 GB and the size of Outlook FI.pst has decreased.

Currently I can delete all Faulty 20XX in the Folder Pane because I don’t need it anymore, the method is the same as step 1 but the second step is to select the Faulty that you want to delete then click Remove and select Yes, repeat 3 times (because there are 4 Faulty to be deleted) then click Close.

The Data Files and Folder Pane display will look like this :

What if one day I want to reopen the *.pst? Do it like steps 1 and 2, but in this case I don’t give a name but just select the existing *.pst and click OK.

The results are as follows :

Cover:

The point is how can I still save emails that are no longer needed so that they don’t overload Ms. Outlook (of course, affecting the performance of the laptop) and display them again if one day they need to.

Pretty easy, right? Good luck, thank you.
