Windows 11 PPPoE Guide

Windows 11 PPPoE Guide

I made this guide if you experience problems such as a slow internet connection or inappropriate bandwidth where the current internet connection uses a router (which is generally used with other devices around at the same time). So it is expected to get maximum results by using only 1 device as a comparison with a router.

Please also make sure that the transmission medium from the ISP is an RJ 45 ethernet cable to connect with a laptop device. The topology used in the guide is as follows and can be adjusted to the conditions in the location :

ISP <–> wall jack <==> router to ISP <–> wall jack <==> laptop

<–> = transmission media

<==> = cable ethernet RJ 45

  1. Connect the LAN cable from the walljack to the laptop and make sure there are no crosses.
  2. Click Start or the Search icon and type network, select Control Panel.

  1. Click Dial-up – Set up a new connection – Connect to the Internet then Next.

  1. Sorry, because previously I was still connected to the internet, select Set up a new connection anyway – Broadband (PPPoE).

  1. Fill in the username and password provided by the ISP, if you use multiple ISPs, it is recommended that the connection name be given the name of the ISP, then click Connect.

  1. If successful, it will appear as shown in the following image and the LAN indicator has changed to Connected, click Browse the Internet now to start browsing or click Close to close the window, if the image does not appear as below or a certain error appears, you can ask the ISP, until this step the PPPoE guide has been completed.

  1. Don’t forget to disconnect when you’re done so that the connection session doesn’t “hang” from the ISP’s side. Still the same as the display in step 3, select the name of the PPPoE and then click Disconnect.

If you are still experiencing slowdowns or inappropriate bandwidth, please contact the relevant ISP.

Note: this connection is not related to a pre-configured IP address so a static/dynamic IP is not required, as it will get a new IP address obtained from the ISP, generally in the form of a Public IP.

For other Windows PPPoE , you can see it in Windows XP and Windows 8. Good luck and a great day. Thanks.

Disable PHP Mail in Plesk

Disable PHP Mail in Plesk

Several times I get an email from my own domain where the email is not actually registered, it can also be called a spoof email. Finally I also found a solution to this problem, which is to disable the mail function in the PHP configuration.

Here is the guide:

Login to Plesk, click Subscriptions – domain name – PHP Settings and scroll down to the Additional configuration directives field, fill in disable_functions = mail, then click OK.

I also disabled the Sendmail function (applies in its entirety):

Log in to Plesk, click Tools & Settings – Mail Server Settings – Disable the Allow user and scripts to use Sendmail option and click OK.

Or if you only want to from the type of service (Service Plans):

Log in to Plesk, click on Service Plans – service type name – Mail – Disable the Allow using Sendmail for scripts and users on this subscription option and then click Update & Sync.

Or if you only want to subscribe from the type of subscription only:

Log in to Plesk, click Service Plans – Subscriptions – select a domain name – Outgoing Mail Control – Subscription – Change Limit – Disable the Allow using Sendmail for scripts and users on this subscription option and then click OK.

After a few days, the email did not appear again. Thanks.

Copy Data with Samsung Smart Switch

Copy Data with Samsung Smart Switch

Continuing  the previous article, this time I will use the Samsung Smart Switch (SS) application on a PC / laptop tobackup data on a cellphone. The application can be downloaded here with a size of about 39.2 MB.

The installation process is quite easy, click Next and Finish and if the PC / laptop at that time is still connected to the internet, then an application update will be checked, wait for it to finish and then click OK.

Oh yes, I will backup data from Samsung Galaxy A70 (SM-A705F) and Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) (SM-A750GN).

Here is the guide :

  1. In the SS application that has been opened, connect the cellphone device that will be backed up (in this case I backed up the Samsung Galaxy A70 first). If your HP device uses a password, please unlock it first.

  1. Select Allow if the following image appears.

  1. If your HP device is connected, click Backup.

  1. Select the data to be backed up then click OK and wait for it to finish then click OK.

5. SS will inform you of the data that is not backed up and the result of  the backup, click OK to close it.

6. Next, I will remove the Samsung Galaxy A70 cellphone and connect the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) cellphone. Unlike before, this time the SS application detects an application update for the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018), click Update – Continue – Continue and wait for it to finish then click OK and will return to the start page.

7. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as above until the result is like step 5.

That’s the step to back it up, how to restore it  ? It’s actually easy, just click Restore and follow the next step, but at that time I didn’t have the opportunity to try it. Just pray that I will have a chance to discuss it. Thanks.

Hard Disk Partition with AOMEI Partition

Hard Disk Partition with AOMEI Partition

Laptops that have the original OS installed, generally only consist of 1 partition (visible), namely C. Actually, there are also other partitions but they are not shown in Windows Explorer.

Here’s a guide to create a hard disk partition (HDD) in Windows 10 with the free version of the AOMEI Partition app.

  1. Open the following link https://www.diskpart.com/download-home.html then click Download Freeware or you can directly click https://www2.aomeisoftware.com/download/pa/PAssist_Std.exe, wait until the download process is complete.

Note: The image and version below are screenshots at the time, so it’s definitely different if you download it next time, the difference between the image and the version of the app at that time.

  1. Click the file and then click OK- Skip – Install Now and Enjoy Now as shown in the following image and AOMEI Partition will open automatically.

  1. If it doesn’t open automatically, click AOMEI Partition on the Desktop and here’s what it looks like. Please note, if there is Bitlocker Encrypted info on the C drive, then follow the following steps so that the HDD can be partitioned, but if it is only C, please continue to step 7.

  1. Click the Windows button and then type device encryption settings.

  1. Click Turn off and wait for the process to complete.

  1. Reopen AOMEI Partition and make sure the display for C drive is as follows.

  1. Right-click on C:Windows-SSD and select Resize/Move Partition.

  1. Fill in the desired size in Partition size or slide the green white circle, click OK.

  1. The size of the partition in C will change and there will be any partitions left after it. Right-click on the empty partition and select Create Partition.

10. Repeat as step 9, but in this you can select the partition letter after that, in this case I select D on Drive Letter and NTFS File System and label Data in Partition Label (click Advanced). I only want to create 2 partitions, namely C and D, then I automatically allocate all the remaining partitions, then click OK.

Note: If your HDD is large enough for 1 TB and you want to create 3 or 4 partitions, then repeat steps 9 and 10 as many partitions as you want to create.

11. Here’s what 2 partitions look like, click Apply for the next process, then click Proceed and OK.

12. The partition process will run under Windows (the laptop will restart automatically) and wait for the process to complete as shown in the following image.

13. Please open Windows Explorer and make sure the result is like the image below.

Good luck and thank you.

Removing AWstat Password in Plesk

Removing AWstat Password in Plesk

For those who want to see website statistics, you may be familiar with AWStats, which is an opensource Web analytics reporting application, suitable for analyzing data from internet services such as the web, streaming media, mail, and FTP servers.

Here’s how to see AWStats in Plesk.

  1. Log in to your Plesk account and select Statistics.

  1. There are 3 options for viewing traffic, namely FTP, Data and Web. For FTP I ignore in this regard.
  2. Transfer Statistics data is used to view monthly reports. Click Data Transfer Statistics and select View on the domain you want to see the statistics for.

  1. Select Statistics again, then SSL/TLS Web Statistics and select View on the domain you want to see statistics for.

  1. If you see the following display and you don’t know the login, you won’t be able to see the report.

  1. To disable the login, click on Websites & Domains and select Hosting Settings.

  1. Uncheck Web Statistics (Protect access to your web statistics with your FTP username and password) and then click OK. This method also applies if you choose Webalizer.

  1. Go back to step 4 and try again, you should see a display without having to log in first.

  1. I recommend still providing a password, as anyone will be able to see the page if they know the link. To provide a password, click on Websites & Domains and select FTP Access.

  1. Select the user whose password you want to add or change, then click OK. Please try again and you should have logged in as in step 5.

Good luck, thank you.
